Build Change: Saint-Gobain’s purpose in action
Reinventing the construction sector is urgent. We must adapt infrastructure to climate change while reducing environmental impact—this is at the heart of Saint-Gobain’s purpose: “making the world a better home.” Beyond transforming our business, we act through global philanthropy.
In 2022, we launched the Build Change program to bring together all our sponsorship and philanthropic initiatives supporting sustainable construction.
Build Change is built on three pillars:
- Supporting access to decent, sustainable housing: supporting construction and renovation, especially in emergencies, through financial aid, material donations, skills-based volunteering, and innovation in energy-efficient solutions.
- Acting for more responsible, resilient communities: funding infrastructure like schools, hospitals, and community centers, while promoting climate resilience, circular construction, and material reuse.
- Shaping the next generation of sustainable builders: empowering youth, women, and underrepresented groups with skills for the sustainable building trades and facilitating their integration into the workforce.
This program reaffirms sustainable construction as the compass guiding our every action.
It is our purpose in action. A purpose that compels us to act, day after day, in the field.
And through it, we demonstrate to all our stakeholders, both internal and external, that reinventing the construction industry involves each and every one of us.
Because wherever we operate, we all have a role to play in making the world a better home.
